Melinda-WrightMelinda Wright offers 25 years clinical social work practice experience with a concentration in mental health counseling. She works with individuals age 15 and up, groups, couples and families. She has assisted clients in resolving a wide range of mental health concerns including anxiety, trauma, depression, and life phase adjustment issues. She is trained and experienced in assisting older adults with the transitions and adjustments of later life. She provides counseling to couples who are interested in pre-marital counseling, marital counseling and reconnecting after a separation or relationship trauma. Ms. Wright is experienced in the assessment and treatment of substance use disorders. Her theoretical orientation includes the strengths based perspective, family systems theory and the person-in-environment orientation. She uses cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, client centered psychotherapy, and mindfulness based interventions.  She has received training by the Gottman Institute (Level I) in couples therapy. Ms. Wright also has expertise with adoption, adoptive parenting and is experienced in providing adoption home study services.
